At 13 years old, Kaylin is one of the “big sisters” in the Asiphe House. Although she cannot speak, she is very sharp and is always watching and listening to what’s going on around her. Kaylin might be the first person to notice if I’m having a bad day or the first person to smile at me when I enter the room. The window next to Kaylin’s bed is next to the door to my flat, so when I arrived home today after 5 days away, I was greeted by Kaylin, smiling and waving (instead of napping). I was happy to see her!
